A COLLECTION OF CUSHIONS, RUNNERS AND DOHARS FOR 'SRIJANI'
Srijani is an NGO working towards the upliftment of rural women in Patna, Bihar through engaging and encouraging them to earn livelihood by building on the textile traditions as practiced by them through generations.
The inspiration for the collection was drawn from the rich visual directory offered by the Mithilanchal region and its crafts. Bold motifs, vibrant colours and visual textures were borrowed from Madhubani paintings.
The collection celebrates techniques like Sujani embroidery in combination with hand-painting, crochet and sewing-machine textures.
