MADHUBANI

A Bedding Collection for

Eucalyptus - A Home Store, hyderabad

This collection was inspired from the 'Madhubani' hand-painting tradition practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar, India. This style of painting is characterized by bold use of lines filled with hatching visual-textures. The motif vocabulary consists of various floral and figurative forms inspired from the nature and surroundings.

The visual textures and typical fish motifs derived from the paintings were converted into a print-surface, which was hand-printed on lush cotton. This was further accompanied with some sewing-textures done on mangalgiri-cotton, to complete the look of the collection.
